Jeep has prepared a lot of surprises for 2013

Maybe some of you already know the reason why on different European markets, the UK as well, SUVs like for example the Jeep Grand Cherokee are only available with diesel power plants. The US customers will find out why soon.

According to different rumors, Jeep will introduce a diesel version of the Grand Cherokee at the 2013 North American International Auto Show that will take place in Detroit in December. The ones interested in purchasing it will have to wait until the end of first quarter when the carmaker will introduce it in dealerships across the country. The new model will receive power from a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine that can already by found on the European markets. It is available in two states of tune and it produces 190 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque and 241 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. Unfortunately there are no details on the performance or the fuel economy specifications when it comes to the new US diesel model. This type of engine offers good driving dynamics and also provides great fuel economy and this is why more drivers choose the diesels.

The Jeep CEO also offered information on the smaller Jeep Patriot and Compact crossovers that will be launched in the second quarter of the year. Apparently the specialists have prepared a lot of changes that will improve them and so make more people fall in love with them. Jeep will also introduce a new version of the Liberty SUV. This model will have as base a Fiat-sourced platform. The US version might have a different name, but nothing is for sure yet. More information will be revealed next month during the North American International Auto Show, so try to be patient until then.
