It all started as an option package for the 2012 Dodge Challenger and then it was made available to the 2013 Dodge Avenger, Dodge Charger R/T and Dodge Challenger R/T models. Now, things have reached a new level and have expanded to the rest of the Dodge range.
Ok, enough mystery. We are talking about the Blacktop Package treatment offered by Dodge for the 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan, Durango 7-seat SUV and Journey mid-size crossover. If you are really curious, know that the carmaker plans to present them all next week at the Detroit Auto Show. Because the packages have been so well received from the beginning, the carmaker has decided to expand them to the three new ones mentioned above. Why? Well, all three Blacktop cars offer class-leading attributes with seating for up to seven and a specially made appearance package starting at only $295.
The first model is the Dodge Grand Caravan that will be available in the second quarter of the year. The Blacktop Package is priced at $595. The models that can benefit from it are the SXT which receive a gloss black grille, black headlamp bezels and fog lamps on the outside and to transfer the output to the road, 17-inch rims. For the inside the cars will receive leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, headliner and silver accent stitching for the upholstery.
The Durango SUV will be available as a $295 option from the first quarter of 2013 on the Rallye and R/T models. The treatment includes a gloss black crosshair and to transfer the output to the road, 20-inch aluminum wheels.
The Journey Crossover Blacktop will arrive in showrooms in the second quarter of the year and will cost $995. It will include 19-inch alloy wheels, lower front fascia accent, grille and exterior mirrors.
