Let us return to the PSA Peugeot Citroen. Apparently the specialists have developed a new Air Hybrid power train which was unveiled at the Innovation Day celebration of the company. Last year, the PSA Peugeot Citroen was the leader in fuel-efficient cars in Europe with the lowest CO2 emission level on the market. Now, the specialists have decided to step up and show us what they have got in terms of mobility for the future in an environmental friendly way. At the celebration were present 100 business and political decision makers, partners and journalists.
During the event, everyone had the opportunity to discover several new technologies developed by the PSA Peugeot Citroen team. These were developed to face the problems of the future, including urbanization, climate change and also new ways of using vehicles.
There was a presentation revealed for the first time that included a revolutionary technology called Hybrid Air which is a petrol and compressed air full-hybrid solution. It represents an important step towards the 2l / 100 km car by 2020. This was not the only solution presented during the event, but we also had the opportunity to see a new global modular platform developed by the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group, the Efficient Modular Platform 2. This new achievement provides effective solutions in terms of modularity, carbon reduction and equipment. The other solution is the Selective Catalytic Reduction which is an innovative technology for elimination diesel NOx emissions. This year, the Group will introduce this unique technology that helps eliminate NOx and reduce fuel consumption by up to 4 % from Euro 5 levels.
Moving on, we have to mention the Eco Hybrid, an accessible hybrid solution. The ones that used it will manage to reduce CO2 emissions by 15 g and reduce fuel consumption by up to 15 %. Another innovation includes the Dedicated Exhaust Gas Recirculation System, the Hydole, an electric hybrid demonstrator and the VeLV, the light city electric vehicle.
