Nissan sold 50000 Leaf models worldwide


Japanese carmaker Nissan managed to sell 50.000 units of their Leaf world wide since 2010 when it was launched for the first time. The model is now available in more than 17 countries in Europe. Managing to reach the 50.000 milestone, the model reinforces its position as the best selling electric vehicle of all time. Know that the current owners of the new Nissan Leaf have covered a total distance of more than 260 million km which is actually greater a greater distance from the earth to the sun. All the kilometers were covered with zero tailpipe emissions and it contributes to the efforts of the government to reduce levels of harmful NOx and particulate matte in cities. A Japanese customer managed to cover more than 175.000 km in a car that has only been offered for sale two years ago. The big number of models sold only proves once again that the extraordinary customer satisfaction rating of over 95 % is true and it is the highest of any Nissan vehicle. Now, in 17 European countries, 7.000 cars are being driven every day. In Spain there is a customer who covered 43.000 km in one year. Europe registered important growth of the CHAdeMO quick charging infrastructure in the last 12 months. These will allow batteries to be recharged from empty to 80 % battery capacity in almost 30 minutes. These units can be found in different locations, like for example shopping center car parks or highway service stations.



The Nissan Leaf was in fact the first mass production electric vehicle. It won different awards like the European, world and Japanese car of the year 2011. With the 50.000 units sold, the Leaf is the best selling electric vehicle in the world.
