Hi-tech in the 2014 Acura MDX.

The production version of the 2014 Acura MDX will be presented at the New York International Auto Show, on 27th March. Using a totally new optimized platform, the vehicle will offer more comfort for its seven passengers. It will also consume less fuel and it will have a greater dynamic performance.

The new third-generation 2014 Acura MDX is characterized by some unique features like angular headlights, a prominent grille and a sloping roofline. Besides a better drive quality, the new platform already mentioned is supposed to offer more legroom for the second row occupants and also an easier access to the third row of seats.

The power under the hood comes from a pretty efficient direct-injected 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM), and will be offered in SH-AWD and 2-wheel-drive drivetrain variants.  Although the company still keeps some figures a secret, it is presumed that the 2014 Acura MDX will be capable of producing (231 kW) and 272 lb-ft (368 Nm) of torque.

The 2014 Acura MDX will be equipped with a set of “Jewel Eye” LED headlights and an ultimate generation AcuraLink Connectivity System. It will probably possess a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow, and Blind Spot Information (BSI). These are all meant to help the driver for a more precise visibility. It will also come with the next generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering II (ACE II) body structure, the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) systems. So we can say that this new Acura will be a five stars car, at least regarding safety.
