In the annual press conference Bentley reveals that a new SUV could be built in 2015 or 2016. Although the concept version was showed to the public the series model will not look very similar with the concept and according to Bentley chief Wolfgang Schreiber will enter in production "very soon".
The SUV has not yet established a name but the manufacturer works on that. For economically reasons Bentley SUV could be built in Bratislava were the Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7 and Volkswagen Touareg models are also manufactured. Bentley SUV shares the same base like the other German SUVs.
The dilemma that the guys from Bentley have to solve is that they have to decide where the production plant for the new SUV will be. On Crewe they have the logistic and skilled workers but the Volkswagen Group prefer the production in Bratislava and most of the interior components to be ordered from Crewe to keep the SUV with the same unique Bentley feel.
An officially price was not released but it is speculated to be around 125,000 GBP (188,925 USD or 146,092 EUR). More than 2,000 orders have been set till now even though the final look is not set yet. The customers are divided between Europe, Russia, Middle East, while the rest of almost 50 percent are from the United States and China.
