Maserati born out of LaFerrari

Maserati prides itself with its long and glorious heritage. It plays an important role in car culture and it keeps writing history with the passing of time.  The ultimate plan of the Italian company is to create a new Maserati based on LaFerrari by 2015.

We know by now that LaFerrari is a hybrid, having a V12 6262cc engine producing 800 HP (588 kW) at 9,000 rpm and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque at 6,750 rpm and an electric motor which provides an extra 163 HP (120 kW) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm). Unlike this model, the future Maserati supercar will drop the hybrid technology. Instead it will get either the V12 6.3-liter from Ferrari F12 or the V8 3.8-liter from Quattroporte. This way it will impress all speed lovers.

No matter the engine it gets, the new Maserati will be less faster than LaFerrari and lacking the hybrid system it will certainly be easier than Ferrari’ s supreme car. It will come only in the coupe variant, having two seats and specially created carbon fiber body elements. Maserati could also borrow the chassis, suspension and electrical system from the base model. The Italian company is a major international market player and it has 61 representations all over the world. So everyone is breathless waiting the forthcoming car.
