2014 Toyota Highlander under the spotlights of New York

Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese company that thinks big. It has good unique ideas to create exciting cars.  This March, on the 27th, the New York Auto Show will host the premiere of the mid-size SUV, 2014 Toyota Highlander. And to make the moment more expected, Toyota launches a bait to the car lovers that takes the form of a teaser photo.

The image that has been published doesn’t ruin the mystery surrounding the 2014 Highlander, as it doesn’t reveal to many details. However, it clearly shows that the model will possess sweptback headlights and a prominent chrome grille. A sculpted hood and plastic body cladding around the wheel wells are also suggested by the photo.

The Highlander 2014 might borrow the engine versions from the Camry. This means it can either benefit from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 178 hp (133 kW) and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque, or from a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 268 hp (200 kW) and 248 lb-ft (336 Nm) of torque. Besides these two versions, Toyota might also offer the more environmental friendly variant, that is a hybrid car. In this case the car will be equipped with a 156 hp (116 kW) 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a 141 hp (105 kW) electric motor.
