Subaru, the automobile manufacturing division on the Japanese company Fuji Heavy Industries, is famous worldwide for using the boxer engine layout in most of its vehicles above 1500 cc and also for the use of all wheel drive train layout which have become the standard equipment for the Subaru cars. So it is very probable to use the same elements in the company’s recently presented concept which will represent the new generation Subaru WRX.
The Subaru WRX concept was warmly received at the 2013 New York auto show, a welcome look into the future of a very anticipated car. It comes in Blue Pearl III paint and it is characterized by a big front hood intake and aggressive headlights. The aerodynamics has also suffered changes. The new WRX is lower and wider than the previous model. Carbon fiber is used on the roof in order to reduce weight and create a better handling. The back is modified, receiving a new trunk lid which has a built in spoiler.
The new Subaru WRX is special in design, having a quad sports exhaust system with interesting fluorescent yellow finish. The same finish is used on the brake calipers and the badges with the WRX name on them.
High-performance tires certainly contribute to the WRX's stability. The actual model rides on a set of tires measuring 235/45R17 while the new Subaru WRX possesses Dunlop tires that wrap the 20 inch BBS forged alloy wheels.
The Subaru WRX now on use takes its power from a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 265 hp. The new Subaru WRX is expected to be powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine capable of generating 300 hp. Unlike most cars, the WRX (and most Subaru cars) emits a unique exhaust sound that enthusiasts can ID without hesitation, and the engine itself emits a specific note.
