Daihatsu and Toyota team up and create the Daihatsu Mebius S Touring Hybrid

Daihatsu, the Japanese company, is a modern firm with increased awareness of the cause-effect relationship between cars and the environment. This is exactly why their goal is to manufacture small vehicles with a high level of fuel efficiency and with an affordable price. As a result of a business collaboration in the environmental technology field in Japan, Daihatsu teamed up with Toyota. Their partnership was sealed by the creation of the Daihatsu Mebius S Touring Hybrid, this being the second hybrid vehicle released under the above mentioned collaboration.

The Daihatsu Mebius S Touring Hybrid is powered by a 1.8 liter hybrid system and has a fuel consumption of 26.2 km/l in JC08 mode. This low figure is a reality because of the synergy created by a Cd value of 0.29, great aerodynamic performance and a loss in weight. The car offers a pretty spacious and comfortable interior, and contrary to this it also has a high-capacity trunk space, of 535 liters when carrying five persons.

The body dimensions that correspond to the hybrid are 4,615 mm length, 1,775 mm width and 1,575 mm height. The Mebius S is equipped with two rows of seats, positioned a bit higher to offer a better sight to all the passengers, and more comfort for them, as there is enough space for the legs and the head too.

Innovation for tomorrow is the Daihatsu slogan. And the company’s goal is to make it famous worldwide with the help of creations like the Daihatsu Mebius S Touring Hybrid.
