Honda, Toyota and Nissan recall 2 million vehicles

Three carmakers have announced a very important recall after discovering an identical issue with the passenger airbag. We are actually talking about Toyota, Honda and Nissan carmakers, which are now facing important expenses and a lot of headaches. The Japanese manufacturers have issued a recall that gathers more than two million vehicles. The problem seems to be an identical one and it involves the passenger airbag. To be more precise, it could result in a bursting inflator that could send plastic pieces flying in the cabin. All affected airbags were manufactured by Takata Corporation which has the base in Japan. The problem might be even bigger. There are three million cars, including models outside Japan that could be affected by this issue. The first carmaker, Toyota has issued a recall for 1.7 million cars. 320.000 units are in Japan, 490.000 in Europe and 580.000 in North America. The models affected are the Tundra, the Corolla and the Lexus SC. The three were manufacturer between November 2000 and March 2004. Moving on to Honda, apparently this carmaker will recall 1.1 million vehicles. 270.000 are in Japan, 64.000 in Europe and 680.000 in North America. We are now talking about the CR-V, Odyssey and the Civic. Nissan is recalling 480.000 cars globally and 137.000 models are from Japan. Mazda is also on the list with 45.000 vehicles affected from the RX-8 and Mazda6. The cause has been traced to two human errors in the production process. The first one refers to the activation of the system that eliminated defective parts and products. The man did not switch it on. The second problem refers to the inadequate storage. This is what Honda declared for the press.
