Subaru, the automobile manufacturing division on the Japanese company Fuji Heavy Industries, is famous worldwide for using the boxer engine layout in most of its vehicles above 1500 cc and also for the use of all wheel drive train layout which have become the standard equipment for the Subaru cars.

At the Nurburgring Circuit Subaru is now testing a model that can be a WRX with some design modifications. The spy pictures taken on an over camouflaged Subaru can lead also to the next-generation of the Subaru WRX STI.

The common feature that the test model and the WRX STI share is the large back wing. One or another, what we can tell regarding the exterior design is that it is not resembling the WRX Concept presented at the New York Auto Show. That is a minus and if we add the fact that the test sedan looks more or less with the current version it is a yellow card for the Subaru.

It is expected that the next WRX STI generation will keep the muscular rear fenders, the bold power bulge and the lower fascia from the great looking concept car. So, the dream of WRX Concept going on production is cast away but we expect some design improvements until the final version goes on sales. Fans are confident that Subaru will not disappoint its customers regarding the circuit and road performances. For other updates stay tuned!
