BMW i8 seen at Nurburgring

The BMW brand can only be associated to one thing: great driving pleasure. Sporting and dynamic performance combined with awesome design and exclusive quality characterizes the German company. One of the cars they have been working on is the BMW i8. And the new vehicle has been spied during a ride at Nurburgring. The official reveal is programmed for the end of the year.

The BMW i8 prototype spotted comes with the production taillights rather than the faux "trailer-style" units seen on previous spy photos. The model will introduce BMW's "i" lineup which will also consist of a more affordable i3 model. It will be powered by an electric motor and a three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. This updated hardware will allow the BMW i8 to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in about 4.8 seconds.

This hybrid car has been submitted to a lot of tests which must get it prepared for its official presentation which is scheduled for September at Frankfurt Motor Show. Rumors say that the car will cost 150,000 EUR.
