Volkswagen Lavida debuts this year in June

After Volkswagen has unveiled the 2013 Lavida at the Beijing Motor Show the German manufacturer is ready to release the Volkswagen Lavida Variant, the wagon version of the previous model. For the moment the Lavida Variant is just teased until the Shanghai Auto Show begins. The model is especially developed and sold for the Chinese market and will debut this year in June.

Volkswagen Lavida Variant will have a hatchback feature focused on the clients looking for wagon estate with a perfect balance between money and functionality. It is not a sure thing which engine will fit the Variant but most probably the 1.4-liter turbo with 130 bhp (97 kW) and a 1.6-liter with 104 bhp (77 kW) are on the top of the list. Volkswagen Lavida Variant will be produced by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture and will measure 4454mm length with 151mm shorter then the sedan but having the same 2610mm wheelbase.

And if the exterior styling won't win everyone over, we must consider the fact that even the entry level model owns anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control and front airbags. With prices around 120,000 Yuan (about 19,400 USD / 14,900 EUR / 12,700 GBP) the Volkswagen Lavida Variant is a good deal for the Chinese customers.
