2013 is a year of celebrations

This year, many carmakers will celebrate some of their models. Here we have to mention the Corvette Sting Ray and the Porsche 911 which turn 50. Aston Martin will also celebrate 60 years of DB5 and the American carmaker Ford will celebrate 40 years of Mustang II. This last one received power from a V8 engine capable of generating 140 horsepower which is not a lot and the other worst part is that the car was not even good looking. The 1977 308 Ferrari looked quite great according to many enthusiasts, but one day, while driving there was the chance of meeting with a Nissan Versa at the next stop lights. The model was capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds was not too good, but even slow. The Chevrolet Z/28 was actually the performance version of the Camaro and it had a lot of success in the SCCA Trans Am race series where other drivers lived in fear of Mark Donohue. The model was capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 8.0 seconds thanks to the 185 horsepower output. In 1985 the Mustang had a great platform that enabled it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in16.0 seconds. The fuel consumption registered 22 mpg. The Peugeot 504 Diesel developed in 1978 was capable of completing the quarter mile in 23 seconds and to reach a top speed of 86 mph. These are some on the information available on different models in the Malaise Era which was marked by the Arab oil embargo of 1973. It has lasted until 1985 when the Ford Mustang GT 5.0 was revealed. Please check out the photo gallery below to see the models yourself.
