Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake green-lighted

Mercedes-Benz is one of Europe’s greatest automakers. This is due partly to the intense competition between the German brands and of course because of the company’s desire to score points in its favour. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a well known lineup. And now it is a sure fact that the manufacturer will add a fourth member to the A family.

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class family consists of a hatchback, a four door coupe named CLA and a crossover called GLA. The fourth member will be a Shooting Brake variant that is supposed to be launched in 2014. The whole A-Class lineup was conceived as a small family car, and the first generation model was introduced in 1997. The latest generation of this version has an overall design that is relatively sporty and it helps to give the model an impressive 0.26 drag co-efficient.

The Mercedes-Benz representatives admitted that they have concrete plans of creating an estate version of the CLA. However, they deny any rumors of producing a sportier A-Class model since the market is declining regarding sports cars.
