Skoda Octavia RS spied

Skoda, the Czech manufacturer, is a company that understands the small everyday challenges of life. The Skoda cars are exceptional because of the clever little touches they’ve got. Big motor shows are the places where automakers reveal both latest models and concept cars to the world, and where new directions of development are presented to public and to the media. One of these is the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where Skoda scheduled to reveal its new Skoda Octavia RS. The festival is set on 11th July.

Some spy shots with the new Skoda Octavia RS reveal interesting things about the vehicle. The RS was almost totally naked of its camouflage and this allows some elements to be noticed, such as its trapezoidal front air intake, larger alloy wheels, rear spoiler and a dual exhaust setup at the back. It has been described by the mother company as being the fastest road-going Octavia ever produced and it will have to offer a motorsport feel, great design, intelligent engineering and outstanding value for money.

The Skoda Octavia RS will probably take its power from a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine generating around 220 HP (162 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. It is an almost certain fact that the vehicle will go on the market sometime in the end of this year. So, by the end of 2013, we’ll see another simply clever car on the road.
