Everything nowadays comes from fast to faster. The information travels quicker than ever. Just over a few days before the official event in Hamburg a German-language brochure regarding the all new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class can now be found on the internet. Some detailed pictures and technical data have been released on the web by a German car forum user. It presents a better view of the exterior lines and full interior features. It is evident now that compared to the current 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the wheel arches are no more over dimensioned.
The German manufacturer has revealed before the interior photos but they are in an unclear format and the details are not so visible. By its code name W222, the 2014 S-Class features, in a larger dimension, common side profile lines with the CLA model. The official dimensions of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class can also be found in the brochure. The data are 5,116mm length, 1,899mm width, and 1,496mm height for a wheelbase of 3,035mm and 5,246mm length, same 1,899mm width, and 1,496mm height for a wheelbase of 5,246mm. The model will be launched in Europe with three variants available: the S350 BlueTEC, the S400 Hybrid and the top rated S500.
The Mercedes S350 BlueTEC will be fitted with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that develops 258 HP (190 kW) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque. This “low” powered engine will run the model from stand to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
The S400 Hybrid will have a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 306 HP (225 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque. Acceleration from stand to 100 km/h will be in 6.8 seconds and its top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
And last but not least there is the 4.7-liter V8 petrol engine that gathers 455 HP (335 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque and it can be found on the S500. With all this power the Mercedes S500 hit 100 km/h from a standing start in just 4.8 seconds. Its top speed is 250 km/h (155 mph).
