The Ford Fusion Hybrid outsells the Camry

According to American carmaker Ford, they are doing great sales-wise in this first part of the year. This last period of time was a very important and fragile for the company because of the accusations for not being honest about the efficiency of their hybrids. The specialists are expecting to surpass the 2010 hybrid sales record. Back then, they have managed to shift 35.496 units a bit soon than the end of 2013. According to different sources, the carmaker will manage to surpass these numbers before the end of this year and month actually. The Americans have shifted 29.561 hybrids through April. Last month the company sold 8.481 units and this is quite impressive if you ask us and enough to beat the record. The reason for this tiny success is that the company had an 18 % share of the niche last month, which was in fact their higher ever. It was 3 % higher than was recorded last year. Despite the great numbers, Ford will have to work even harder to match the Japanese Toyota. This company owns 58 % of the sector. There is a different story with General Motors which have been defeated since before the end of last year, according to different sources. If we turn our attention towards last month we realize that the Ford Fusion hybrids managed to outsell the Toyota Camry hybrid by more than 700 units. In the end, the company sold 3.989 units. They have made a fivefold increase in comparison to the last year, 2012. Toyota announced a 26 % decrease for the Camry hybrid and also this last period was not too good for the Prius either registering a 21 % decrease in sales. This year, the Prius did not do very good and lost another 12 %. For now, we do not have any other details on the matter, but do not go very far as more an on their way.
