Ferrari prepares an updated 458 Italia for Frankfurt

Ferrari is the maximum expression of what defines excellence. Excellence found in everything, in technological innovation, performance, visionary styling and the sheer thrill of driving. Ferrari is one of the most wanted or at least the most dreamt of cars. The Ferrari 458 Italia is one of the successful vehicles in the Italian’s brand fleet. The company is preparing a better version of this model which will be introduced in September at Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new Ferrari 458 Italia will be named either Monte Carlo or Challenge Stradale. Some of the elements will be, of course, similar to the ones existing on the base model. However, the aerodynamics will be improved, as the upcoming vehicle will lose some weight, and this can only mean less fuel consumption and consequently less CO2 emissions. The car might also use the know-how earned during LaFerrari manufacturing.

The upcoming Ferrari 458 Italia will be powered by a V8 4.5 liter engine that will generate approximately 600 HP (441 kW) comparing to 562 HP (413 kW) that the former model’s output. This will be allowed because of the new forged connection rods, remapped ECU, modified exhaust system and a redline increased from 9,000 rpm to 9,300 rpm. The engine will be linked to a seven speed dual clutch transmission which is very possible to receive new gear ratios. It is said that the 458 Scuderia will be equipped with active carbon fiber winglets on the rear diffuser.  But these are only suppositions, and the one revealing the truth will be the Frankfurt Auto Show.
