Ford will build more vehicles to meet the demand

It seems that American carmaker Ford is doing very well in terms of sales and this is why, the specialists have decided to build 200.000 units more this year after increasing to 400.000 last year. The car company declared that their will shorten the summer shutdown to one week from the traditional two weeks for the majority of the North American assembly plants. This will help increase production by almost 40.000, which is quite impressive and so, the sacrifice is totally worth it. The carmaker has to run their North American facilities at full capacity to be able to meet the demand for their top selling cars, utilities and trucks. They will add 200.000 units of annual straight-time capacity this year, according to Jim Tetreault, vice president of North America Manufacturing. It seems that around 75 % of their plants are running at a three-crew, three-shift or four-crew pattern in order to ensure supplying enough products in dealerships. This is what the man declared. The capacity increase came from Chicago Assembly Plant, Flat Rock Assembly Plant and Kansas City Assembly Plant. The models that are helping Ford do so well are the Ford Explorer, Ford Fusion and Ford F-Series. Ford also said that the increased production at Kansas City Assembly Plant with the addition of a third crew is included in the 200.000 increase mentioned. 20 factories will also have a reduced summer shutdown this year, including 6 assembly plants. The company will add 1.400 jobs at Flat Rock assembly plant and another 2.000 jobs at Kansas City assembly plant. Lets us hope things will continue to be just as good and that sales will continue to increase.
