Holden will continue to build cars in Australia

If you remember, not long ago, American carmaker Ford announced that it will stop building cars in Australia in 2016. On the other hand, the other major manufacturer of the country, Holden also declared that they will continue to build cars for Australia and they will stay committed to their promise. Mike Devereux, Holden CEO declared that that announcement Ford has made is proof of how difficult it is to build cars in Australia. Sometimes is difficult even for Holden which is actually bringing the most technologically advanced cars ever made in this country, but as it turns out, they are capable of moving further. To be more precise, the man was talking about the new Holden Commodore which is actually very important in the future of their activity in the country. It is expected to be one of the top 10 selling car in Australia, but we will have to wait and see if this will happen or not. Despite the decision Ford took, to end its activity here, Holden believes that the industry can survive in the country and that the shock with the end of Ford was already a bit adjusted only because Ford was building low production volumes. Holden on the other hand, has announced a 10-year manufacturing plan last year which was agreed with the Australian Government that has as base the economic and market conditions at that time. This is actually a bold plan and involves an investment of a billion dollars in the country. This plan will ensure production of two all-new global vehicles out to 2022, the executive declared. The carmaker is working close to the Australian Government, the Federal Coalition and the State Governments so that they make sure of the viability of the industry with all the challenges they are fighting now. This is all for now folks, on the matter.
