Maserati will built a new coupe

Italian carmaker Maserati is working now on developing new models as according to them, there is always room for more. In the near future, the manufacturer plans to develop two new two-door models. The first one will continue the mold of the current Gran Turismo and GranCabrio models as GT cruisers with seating for four. The other models is called the Gran Sport is a two-seat model which is also lighter and smaller, which makes a lot of sense. According to Maserati CEO, Harald Wester, the smaller two-door could cost approximately the same as a Quattroporte powered by a V6 engine. The new model will actually share its platform with the Quattroporte and so it is not that weird. The new development will be a bit shorter, but the engine will fit inside and, nothing is for sure yet, but chances are it will be a V6. A V8 would not be a surprise either, so we will have to wait and see which one is it. As the carmaker will make the new Gran Sport a sports car, its major rival is the Porsche 911. As expected, this is not the only one, because right around the corner is the Jaguar F-Type which seems to please the ones who have seen and tried it. In terms of looks, we can see that all Maserati models look great and for sure this new model will also follow. Even so, current Maserati models look great, but they can not be compared to the ones built 40 years ago. The Ghibli and the Quattroprte are not the best examples to follow, but we do hope they will consider looking for inspiration in the same places they have 40 years ago.
