LaFerrari steps in Japan

Officially presented at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show, LaFerrari also known as the F70 makes its first steps in Japan. The model has been showed to a limited group of people who own or just love the Italian brand. They also had the pleasure to see a special exhibition named “Supercar Chronicle” where supercars like the 288 GTO, the F40, the F50 and the Enzo were featured.

Built at Maranello based on findings from testing of the Ferrari FXX the LaFerrari is the first hybrid supercar who emerges from the plant’s production lines. The unique hybrid provides the highest power output of any Ferrari and at the same time has a fuel consumption lowered by 40 percent. Under the hood there is a 6.3 litre (6262 cc) capacity engine that delivers 800 PS (588 kW; 789 bhp) at 9,250 rpm and 700 Nm (516 lb•ft) of torque at 6,750 rpm. What comes next is just amazing, the power can be supplemented in short bursts by 163 PS (120 kW; 161 bhp) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) produced by KERS unit (called HY-KERS).

Ferrari claims CO2 emissions of 330g/km for the normal run of the engine and when it rides together with the electric system the CO2 emissions drop to an almost unreal value of just 220 g/km. The performances of the hybrid supercar were not affected by the environmental friendly CO2 emissions. It hits 100 km/h (62 mph) from a stand start in less than 3 seconds, 200km/h in under seven seconds, 300 km/h (190 mph) in under 15 seconds and goes until reaches a top speed exceeding 350 km/h (220 mph). Ferrari proudly announced that the 2-door berlinetta gets the best time per lap on Fiorano Test Circuit, less than 1 minute and 20 seconds. This is the fastest time than any other road legal car Ferrari has ever got. If you dream for such a fantastic hybrid sports car hurry up, the production is limited only 499 units will be built.
