Volkswagen Golf VI R Cabriolet price cut

Volkswagen, the German company, is one of the world’s top automobile manufacturers and the most important car maker in Europe. In 2012, VW increased the number of vehicles delivered to customers to 9.276 million (while in 2011 it was 8.265 million), this meaning a 12.8 percent share of the world passenger car market. The brand has developed centers and services in the entire world, including the U.K. And the British market is exactly the one they are trying to surprise with a substantial price reduction of the Volkswagen Golf VI R Cabriolet.

At the first sales in the U.K., the Volkswagen Golf VI R Cabriolet cost 38,770 GBP, making it more expensive than a Porsche Boxster. This seemed too much even for the German officials and they did their best to recalculate the price of the vehicle. This is how the too expensive Volkswagen became more acceptable, now costing 33,170 GBP. Fortunately there were only six clients who bought the car at its original price and they will get back the difference.

As a reminder, the Volkswagen Golf VI R Cabriolet is powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine linked with a 6-speed DSG. It produces 265 HP (195 kW) and it needs 6.4 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) and can reach an electronically-limited speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The car comes with chrome-tipped exhausts, side sill extensions, LED daytime running lights and bi-xenon headlights. The cabin has four individual sport seats and a fully electric insulated top which can be raised in 11s and lowered in 9.5s at speeds of up to 18 mph (29 km/h).
