Lada Design might change the styling of the brand

Every time someone hears about Lada thinks of something different. There are people thinking even about the Lada 1500 that has as base the Fiat 124, also known as the VAZ-2105 in Russia, a model that has been produced between 1980 and last year. Different rumors indicate that AvtoVAZ design director Steeve Mattin is thinking about changing our perception about the Lada. The man is the maker of old-fashioned car that are way past their expiry date by offering a design revolution. He is actually trying to do the same thing the design boss from Kia did with the company, changing its image. Of course, Lada is now known as outdated design and for this characteristic, the Niva 4x4 is the best example. This vehicle remained the same for 37 years of existence. The carmaker said that this is going to change and the changes will be very easy to spot in the near future. Mattin said that they are preparing an intensive modernization with the introduction of a completely new design which in the end will change the image of the brand. Mattin started working as a designer at Mercedes-Benz and in 2005 was appointed design boss at Volvo until 2009. He is now 48 years old and has been a design director at AvtoVAZ since 2011. In the photo gallery below you can see the picture of the 2012 X-Ray concept which is a hint of what future Lada models will look like in the future. The carmaker also plans introducing a new crossover and SUV model in 2016. Because Russians like robust cars, the new design will probably reflect that. This is all for now folks, but please check out the photo gallery below.
