Jaguar CUV debuts in Frankfurt

Jaguar is more than just a name. It is a spirit that can be found all over this planet. Accustomed to manufacturing spectacular vehicles, mostly sports cars, the brand seems to be an adaptable one, too. As the crossover segment in the auto field is continuously developing and CUVs attract many people’s eyes and money, Jaguar is pretty decided to launch a car like this at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year.

This Jaguar crossover thing is just a rumor, for the moment. However, it seems to have been confirmed by some confident sources. Yet, it is uncertain whether or not the Frankfurt planned vehicle will be just a concept car or it will come out as a final production model.

The Jaguar crossover could be named the XQ or the Q-Type and it is expected to sit on the same platform that we can find in the company’s entry level XS. Any other information is still unknown, including the engine configurations which we can only assume will be a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel generating 163 HP (120 kW) and 200 HP (147 kW), a 3.0-liter V6 diesel with 240 HP (177 kW), a turbocharged 2.-0-liter petrol with 240 HP (176 kW) or, why not, a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with 340 HP (250 kW). It is very possible that, if and when the model will enter production, it will be built at the Land Rover plant in Solihull, England. The Frankfurt Motor Show is just around the corner so, hopefully, more details will emerge as the event gets closer.
