Porsche exhibits its cars at Pebble Beach

Porsche is celebrating this year 50 years of existence. And this 50th birthday seems to be an endless party, the brand having released a lot of anniversary editions of cars from its fleet. Porsche is the appropriate name when it comes to sports cars regarded as masterpieces. It is one of the most complex companies with strong ideals of making art, not just building cars.  And those cars certainly need to be show off to the public. And Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance kicking off on 14th August is just another perfect occasion to present cars. Some of the idols here will be the Porsche 911 Anniversary Edition and the Porsche 918 Spyder.

On this Pebble Beach event, the German manufacturer has decided to introduce the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup which will compete in the United Sports Car Racing series in 2014. It features an evolutionary design with a new front bumper that has a front splitter and carbon fiber canards. It is powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six engine that develops 460 HP (338 kW) and it is great fun to drive. The Porsche 918 Spyder will also be a star at the show. The hybrid car has a 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 608 HP (447 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque. It is mated with two electric motors producing 156 HP (115 kW) and approximately 129 HP (95 kW). Besides this, the Porsche 911 Anniversary Edition will be there, too. The 911 is powered by a 6 cylinder, 3.8-liter boxer engine that generates 400 HP (294 kW). This enables the vehicle to go from stand to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.5 seconds.

Continuing the series of celebrating events, Porsche will have an exhibition at the Quail Motorsports Gathering. In addition, the Porsche Zentrum (8000 Valley Greens Drive, Carmel, Calif., 93923) will have as a guest the current lineup of Porsche models, including the 2014 911 GT3 and the future coming plug-in electric Panamera S E-Hybrid, starting from August 14 - 18. So, if you are a true Porsche fan this is the perfect timing to get close to the brand’s vehicles because this 50th anniversary has transformed the company into a restless and more open one.
