2014 Mini teased

The brand new model of Mini will be officially presented on 18th November, 2013 in Oxford, U.K., the place where the brand is headquartered. Mini originated as a specific vehicle, a small car originally known as the Morris Mini-Minor and the Austin Seven, launched by the British Motor Corporation in 1959, and developed into a brand with a range of small cars. Mini means efficient production, economical car and social commitment, all mated with offering a fun drive. The company seems very interested in baiting its fans and it has just released a teaser photo with the 2014 Mini.

The date of introduction, 18th November, is not accidental. This is the day when Sir Alexander Arnold Constantine Issigonis was born back in 1906. So the new model is in fact homage to the creator of the original Mini. About the same time, the vehicle will be seen at the Tokyo Motor Show as well as at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The small Mini is expected to grow a bit in length and wideness. This is translated into a longer hood, slimmer A-pillars and a smaller front grille to offer it some extra personality.

Even though the exterior of the 2014 Mini will have just a few modifications, the interior is rumored to be completely changed.  The inside of it will be quite a traditional one, with a speedometer on the driver’s side. However, tradition mixes with some modern elements such as a big touch screen, some chrome inserts on the door handles, speakers and steering wheel. There is no word on the engine configurations yet, but unofficially, it is said that the Mini Cooper S version will be powered by a new turbo 1.6-liter gasoline heart producing 178 bhp (132 kW), and the JCW model having the same engine but upgraded to generate around 217 bhp (162 kW). How much of all these are true we shall find out soon.
