Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R Concept partially revealed

Hybrid cars are something that appears in the news all the time lately. There is an entire trend of creating eco-friendly cars in the auto field. There are several reasons why interest in these vehicles convinced even the biggest car producers to enter the trend. Toyota, one of the most respectable and innovative brands in the world, in no exception. Therefore, the Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R Concept is soon to be presented. But before the public debut, the company was very kind to offer a photo of their upcoming product.

The Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R Concept started from the three door Yaris. It is powered by a 1.6-liter Global Race Engine (GRE) mated with two electric motors which allow the car to have an all-wheel drive system. The concept has some quite special features that Toyota uses on the hybrid cars it develops. The vehicle offers the chance to recover energy under braking in a super capacitor and then deliver it to the powertrain to provide an extra boost. The same technology is also used by the company in its sports cars.

Toyota is planning to presents its latest progress when it comes to hybrid vehicles at the Frankfurt Motor Show next year. By the time 2015 is over, the Japanese company will have 16 new or updated hybrid models in its fleet. Toyota considers the energy and emissions benefits make this the best technology yet to deliver the ultimate zero-emission car, with hydrogen as an ideal, ultra-clean energy source.
