The International Motor Show Cars (IAA) is the world's most comprehensive show of the automotive industry for everybody who develops, manufactures or uses passenger cars. The 65th International Motor Show 2013 in Frankfurt am Main will host the VW Group with almost 9,000 square meters of show space. The exhibition will feature the main VW themes that are e-mobility, 4MOTION, WRC.
Among the regular models, Volkswagen will present in world premiere three new vehicles at this event, the e-Golf, the new Golf R and one more unknown model that comes in world premiere. The German manufacturer has not introduced to the public the last model yet, but assures the customers that it will be the Groups highlight.
The newly revealed 2014 Golf R is one of the brands most expected model in Frankfurt Motor Show. The aggressive body look is powered by the well known 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that provides 300 HP (221 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. With a fuel consumption of 7.1 liters / 100 km (6.9 liters / 100 km for the DSG-equipped version) and an amazing acceleration from stand to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds (4.9 seconds with the optional six-speed DSG) and an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) the Golf R will surely attract all views.
The environmental friendly EV e-Golf has a lithium-ion battery that is positioned under the rear seats and has a capacity of 26.5 kWh that assures a road autonomy up to 175 km (109 miles). The electrical mill outputs 115 HP (86 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque more than enough to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 11.8 seconds. The top speed is set to 135 km/h (84 mph). So, a fact is for sure: Volkswagen will be impressive at Frankfurt.
