Dacia Duster facelift to be revealed at Frankfurt Motor Show

At the writting of this article, there are less than 2 weeks left until the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Low and behold, Dacia's Duster who's been around the block for about 3 years now, will be there. Not the same, but with a facelift.

The designers, Renault Design Central Europe, are pleased with the car's reviews so far. For this matter, they did not resort to major changes at this stage.

So what changes can we expect from the compact SUV?

On the front end, the manufacturers replaced the grill with a chrome one, and gave a new design to the headlights.

Dacia has also got in store some restyled roof rails, a chrome exhaust tip and redesigned rear lamps. You wouldn't expect just the headlights to go through the facelift, would you?

Last but not least, the Duster will come equiped with new 16-inch wheels, which will be covered in Mud and Snow tires. The producer did not publish any details regarding the interior of the facelifted version.

While rumours appeared about certain performance improvements as well, such as a bigger 2.0 engine (like the one used for the Russian version), so far nothing to this matter has been mentioned by a Dacia or Renault official.

Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010, the Dacia Duster (also called Renault Duster for certain markets) has made a good impression previous to this facelift. Last year, it has won the Best SUV from the Scottish Car of the Year 2012 in Glasgow and

was named "The Bargain of the Year 2012" by Top Gear magazine. In India, the Renault Duster version, received the 2013 Indian Car of the Year award. All in all, things are going in the right direction for Dacia.

We'll see in the following days whether they will carry on riding this wave with the announced facelift in Frankfurt. First impressions look promising.
