Here is a list with Ford Mustang concepts that were not sent for production

American carmaker Ford is celebrating 50 year of existence of the Mustang next year in April. In the same day, the specialists will launch a new model, the 2015 Mustang. In the photo gallery you will have the opportunity to see some of them. There you will also find photos of several Mustang concepts that did not make it into production. Specialists have tried to develop a lot of Mustang versions, but because of different factors, there are a lot of them that did not see the light of the day. We will tell you a bit of information on some of the models. Let us start with the 1961 Avventura, Avanti and Allegro. The engineers have experimented with different themes and even though the model was never produced, a variation of the fastback profile was eventually adopted as the 3rd body style for Mustang. There were also two-seat study cars developed between 1961 and 1962, but even so there has never been a strictly two-seat production Mustang with small exceptions. Moving on, we have to remind you of the 1963 two-seat, mid-engine Mustang concept which is a hard-top variation of the Mustang 1 concept from 1962 which offered inspiration for the GT40 Mk1 that started racing at the Le Mans in 1964. There is also the 1964 two-seat study which incorporates several design cues of the first generation Mustang, including the side scoops. The 1965 four-door Mustang did not get a green light and so it was not sent for production either. The 1966 Mustang Station Wagon was also very close to being produced, but not enough. The rest of the models designed, but not produced are the 1966 March 1 concept, the 1967 March 2 concept, The 1967 Allegro II concept, Mustang Milano concept, Mustang RSX concept developed in 1980, the March III concept and several other ones.
