Caterham Seven 165 Concept goes to IAA

A Caterham is everything but an ordinary car. It represents the maximum point in the driving involvement, providing a sophisticated package of handling, road holding and ride excitement. You all know the model Caterham 7 (or simply called Seven) is manufactured by the specialist in lightweight sports cars, Caterham and as all English things it is a perfect creation, the supreme vehicle. The brand is going to Frankfurt to present the new concept of the Caterham Seven 165 and will surely have great success.

As the Caterham Seven 165 is still a concept, its only job for now is to preview, in big lines, the company’s production model. The concept is powered by a turbocharged 660cc three-cylinder Suzuki engine and this means it will be less powerful than the range-topping Seven 485. However, this can’t be regarded as a minus, since the 80 HP (59 kW) and 107 Nm (79 lb-ft) of torque are said to offer the same level of pure driving fun as its relative.

This concept is meant to put together the pieces of an important project and to offer satisfaction to the engineers that have been working to develop it. The puzzle needs to inspire a younger generation of people to enter the Caterham fashion and to feel the enthusiasm behind the steering wheel of such a unique vehicle. When the production model comes out, it will have a starting price around €25,000 (including taxes). It only depends if the car suits your personality. And if it does, buy one!
