GM is thinking of a hybrid Corvette

We all know now that hybrid technology is taking over. It behaves great both in terms of efficiency and performance and recently, there are more sports and supercar models that are being electrified and there are actually the ones for the future. All current electric or hybrid models will receive improved electrical elements that will boost their performance. We will turn our attention towards the new Corvette Stingray which is in fact a great example for a model that might receive a hybrid power train. Of course, this will only happen if the engineers will find the right way to do it without looking or behaving not natural. The thing is that the Corvette was not offered a lot of functions to improve its efficiency and even now, the model has 21 mpg fuel consumption on a combined cycle. These figures are being obtained thanks to cylinder deactivation which is supplied as standard and this is actually a strong concern as regulations are now stricter. It seems that Chevrolet will not give up and will continue using the V8, unlike Jaguar which gave up quite fast. General Motors is actually considering developing a hybrid version as it sounds to be a very attractive idea. The carmaker declared that the new successor of the ZR1 might also have n electric part which will be capable of developing 700 horsepower. The new Z07 might be capable of generating 600 horsepower. We will hear from them soon, no doubt about it.
