Opel Ampera gets cheaper

The Opel Ampera is a unique vehicle. This precise vehicle is considered by many to be the best sold electric car in Europe. Opel is one of the pioneers in trendsetting electric mobility. Since its market launch at the beginning of 2012, Opel has made significant progress with its first electric car, which has some impressive figures.

The Opel Ampera is a hybrid vehicle. Totally summing up 150 hp(111 kW), it can use its electric power between 40 and 80 km. When the gasoline engine comes into stage, the distance rises to 500 km. The 1.4 liter gasoline engine is the big brother who looks after its younger brother, recharging the 16 kWh lithium-ion battery pack of the electric engine. The Ampera has a great fuel consumption of 1.2 liters / 100 km (196 mpg US or 235 mpg UK). It is also environmental friendly having CO2 emissions of about 27g/km. In less than 10 seconds the car can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) and a maximum speed of 99 mph (161 km/h).

Opel did a surprising move by reducing the price for the Opel Ampera. This will start at 38,300 EUR from next year. This means that a future client will pay 7,600 EUR less for the car. This will not interfere with the car’s specifications, the options remaining unchanged. With the new pricing, the company shows its straightforwardness and continues to pursue its strategy for sustainable mobility. Opel sticks committed to investing in electric vehicles, despite the fact that other important brands consider them inappropriate for their current policy.
