The financial crisis continues and sales on the European market continue to decrease. On the other side of the world, in the US, sales have increased and reached the levels had before the whole crisis thing. Sales have deceased because a lot of people have been left without jobs in Europe, but the American had to add overnight shifts in order to handle demand. In August alone, 1.5 million vehicles have been sold in the US, which represents 17 % increase in comparison to 2012. In 2000 were sold approximately 16.09 million vehicles. According to General Motors 275.847 vehicles have been sold last month, 15 % more than in 2012. This is actually the highest monthly total since September 2008. GM actually sold 61.620 pickups. American carmaker Ford sold 12 % more cars, which means 220.404 cars and light trucks. 71.115 of them were F-Series pickup trucks. According to them, they are selling one F-Series truck every 42 seconds 24/7. August was the best month for pickups since 2006 and what a month. Chrysler is not doing a lot worst. Their digits have increased by 11 % and in August alone they have managed to sell 120.161 units. The specialists had to add night shifts in order to handle supply in terms of Ram pickups and SUVs like, for example, the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. We can even talk about other important brands that have reported even bigger numbers in terms of sales. These account 56.1 % of sales last month, up from 49.9 % registered in June 2011. Toyota, Honda and Nissan have registered sale increase as well and to be more precise, we are talking about 23 %, 27 % and 22 %, respectively, which is quite impressive. BMW sold 30.546 units and so sales have increased by 35.4 % and Mercedes-Benz have increased by 15.8 %. Audi is also doing very well selling up to 14.005 units so far. In the end, the results are not that bad for the US market.
