Honda Civic Type R detailed

Honda is a company built on dreams which inspire the people working there to create innovative products which are meant to bring benefit to society and its mobility. One of these sorts of dreams is being set in the form of the Honda Civic Type R. There were many rumours surrounding the future car and maybe this is exactly why Honda decided to offer some more details regarding the vehicle scheduled to debut in 2015.

The Honda Civic Type R is powered by a direct-injection, turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine which will produce at least 280 HP (206 kW). The Civic will be equipped with a quad exhaust setup and a rear wing, or at least the pictures allow us to see these. The vehicle will also be brought closer to the ground and as the photos illustrate, it will ride on a larger set of wheels. The direction, the transmission and the braking systems will probably benefit of some upgrades.

The Honda Civic Type R is wanted to become the fastest front-wheel drive car around the Nurburgring. And Honda has two more years to work on this ideal. Testing have already started and the car did not succeed to beating the Nurburgring record. However, it was close to doing so. The target is to beat the 8m 7.97s time achieved in 2011 by the Renault Megane RS Trophy. The chances are huge and hopefully we’ll find out more details until we get to see the car on track.
