BMW i8 Spyder imagined

Drawing cars used to be a hobby for many teenagers, especially boys. But as the time passed, new ways of spending time have appeared, these including the computer. However, there is one guy who keeps tradition. Theophilus Chin is the name that developed a pleasure for designing cool potential vehicles. The last car he imagined is the BMW i8 Spyder.

Last week, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Bavarian brand showed to the public the production version of the BMW i8 and launched the rumour that a Spyder version of the model is taken into consideration. The officials stated that the i8 Spyder will similar in design to the regular i8. This was just enough for Theophilus Chin to come up with his own version of the car. The future coming vehicle will be priced around 150,000 USD.

The BMW i8 Spyder will be powered by a three-cylinder, 1.5-liter gasoline TwinPower Turbo engine outputting 231 HP (170 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. This will be assisted by an electric motor producing 131 HP (96 kW). The engine is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels, while the motor is mated to a two-stage automatic gearbox which sends power to the front wheels. Together, the two essential parts will produce 362 HP (266 kW) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque. As the coupe version, the Spyder can work on conventional fuel, on electric power which will be enough for 22 miles (35 km) or in hybrid mode which will allow the car to run 310 miles (500 km). Let’s just wait and see how much will the future BMW i8 Spyder resemble to the creation of Mr. Chin.
