The S63 may be the last twin-turbo Mercedes-Benz

As we all see nowadays, there is a downsizing trend that has touched the automotive industry as well. All carmakers are now trying to be as efficient as possible and this is actually their main concern not taking into consideration the specifications of the product. More models seem to be out of date if they do not have a turbo unit under the hood. Apparently image is everything, but even so, this is why even big companies that offer big engines under the hood are now beginning to fail. Under the hood, the German model from Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG hides a 6.3-liter V8 unit. This is actually the 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 unit and not even the 6.2-liter naturally aspirated unit. There are no precise details on their future plans, at least not for now. We are not sure if you remember, but the 5.5-liter V8 also known as M157 has been used since 2 years ago through the range of AMG models like for example, CL, SL, CLS, S-Class, ML, GL and the E-Class. Here we also have to mention the G-Klasse. The unit offered for the model is capable of generating 577 horsepower. According to different specialists this M157 unit is important because it is trying to withdraw more power from it. This means it is more reliable. The engineers might even decide to offer a smaller unit that would give extra boost thanks to the electrical part of the model. For further information you will need to wait until the Germans decide it is time for us to know more.
