Both Renault and Nissan might use the same platform the new Infiniti Q30 uses and this applies for cars that are not premium as well. The CEO of Renault-Nissan and the CEO of Daimler are now thinking about using the platform for different models. The idea is to take advantage at maximum of their alliance and the technology they have developed together. The specialist declared that they want to share the platforms with other companies. This was the declaration the officials made last week during the 2013 edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show. The specialists admitted that Mercedes-Benz and Infiniti, for example, that use these platforms, will be able to get real price efficiency. For the moment, the MFA architecture is used by the A-Class, B-Class, CLA and GLA. The Japanese from the Infiniti brand will use the same platform and its production will start only in 2015 in England. Moving one we also have to mention a new project that involves Smart and Renault. The two will use a common rear-wheel-drive architecture for the new-generation Twingo, a four-seat car. To e more precise, the new model will be built together with the Twingo in Slovenia, in a new factory. There are still some things that are not very clear, yet, and here we refer to a rumor involving Daimler and Nissan which might build compact models together. Nothing is for sure, but the new Infiniti Q30 and the Mercedes GLA might enter production before the end of next year. Please enjoy the photo gallery we have prepared for you.
