Venturi VBB-3 introduced

Electric cars are something that appears in the news all the time lately. There is an entire trend of creating eco-friendly cars in the auto field. For over 10 years, Venturi, a French company, is witnessing the implementation of the principles, means and tools of sustainable mobility. The firm has in its history a few world premieres, speed records, distance records and endurance ones. Their electric vehicles were submitted to all kinds of tests, from extreme conditions to daily use and they did just fine. Now the Venturi team has unveiled the Venturi VBB-3 at the Wendover Airfield in Utah.

The honor of unveiling the Venturi VBB-3 belonged to Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco. The VBB-3 is a high performance vehicle that was developed with the help of the Ohio State University. It is wanted to be the most powerful electric car in the world. And in order to obtain this, the specialists from Venturi equipped it with two electric motors. Together, they produce a maximum output of 3000 HP (2206 kW) and 2800 Nm (2065 lb-ft) of torque.  The two motors are sustained by a Lithium iron phosphate battery.

The Venturi VBB-3 was planned to take part to a number of high speed tests at the Bonneville Salt Flats at the beginning of the week.  The entire event had to be suspended because of the bad weather conditions. In order to officially become the fastest electric car ever, the VBB-3 has to set a new world record that is 600 km/h (372.82 mph). And it probably will do it by the end of the year.
