Different sources report that the Mercedes S65 AMG will make its debut during the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2013 followed by the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S600 which will be revealed during the North American International Auto Show.
Baring in mind that Mercedes previously informed that Newport Beach, California is the place where AMG dealerships hit top sales, it is obvious why they chose to release the S65 AMG during LA`s Motor Show. The market`s preference for luxury AMG cars makes the LA Motor Show the perfect place for revealing the vehicle in order to increase attention towards the car and maximizing the already high expected number of units to be sold.
The 2015 Mercedes S65 AMG will reportedly be powered by a twin turbocharged V12 engine, just like the CL65 AMG. If this is the case, the motor will output 621 bhp (463 kW) and have a 738 lb-ft (999 Nm) peak torque. With this information at hand, it can be that the S65 will be able to go from 0 to 60mph (0 to 100 Km/ h) in just 4.3 seconds.
Just like its forerunners, the 2015 Mercedes Benz S600 will be powered by a non AMG V12 engine. If the V12 engine will be mated with the same gearbox as the CL600 coupe, we can expect an output of 510 HP and a 612 lb-ft peak torque. Although it seems that by following the S63 AMG`s features the S65 AMG should come with a 4Matic all wheel drive system, rumors have it that the S600 will feature a rear wheel drive system.
Mercedes will have 21 models of high-end luxury cars on the market by the end of this year. It seems that in spite of the not so bright worldwide economical context, the market for luxury cars is continuously expanding with prices ranging from $90.000 to $200.000.
