Subaru updates the Outback as a 2014 MY

The Subaru Outback is the representative SUV of the brand. Subaru, the automobile manufacturing division on the Japanese company Fuji Heavy Industries, is famous around the world for using the boxer engine layout in most of its vehicles above 1500 cc and also for the use of all wheel drive train layout which have become the standard equipment for the Subaru cars.  The company has just announced that they are preparing the 2014 year model for the Subaru Outback.

The most important change that is being brought to the Subaru Outback is a new powertrain that is composed of a 2.0-litre Boxer diesel engine that works together with a Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) for the first time. This should pretty much lower the CO2 emissions and the fuel economy. It is expected that the vehicle would use just about 44.8mpg and will emit 166/km of CO2 emissions. The chassis will also benefit of an upgrade which is supposed to improve ride and handling.

The 2014 Subaru Outback will suffer some exterior and interior changes. A new set of 17 inch alloy wheels will be available, as well as two new color schemes, the Deep Sea Blue Pearl and Dark Grey Metallic. Emphasising the Outback’s sense of toughness and its ability to tackle all roads and conditions, the future model features body-colored cladding instead of the previous iteration’s black plastic. The model will be on sale starting November 1.  Its price begins at £29,995 and can go up to £31,495.
