McLaren refuses to build SUVs

British carmaker McLaren is now working on developing new models that will be released on the Asian market this year. They are trying to expand to higher-volume segments. For the great event, the carmaker is preparing to conquer new customers. In terms of sales, McLaren managed to see quadruple figures in 2012 and they are now trying to reach the annual sales of 4.000 units by 2015 with the orders that will come from china. We will be able to see how things are as soon as McLaren will launch the entry-level P13 sports car. Porsche specialists will need to be careful as this new British model will become its rival. To continue with the growth, the carmaker will develop other models as well ad all will happen starting 2016. They expect to sell around 1.500 units in 2013 and 2014 and after this the British specialists plan to sell 4.000 cars per year. This is what McLaren Automotive CEO Mike Flewitt declared. When it comes to the price of the model, the specialists declared that the P13 will cost two-thirds the price of the 12C. To be more precise, you will have to pay around GBP110.000. The manufacturer entered the Chinese market this month with three dealerships. They do expect to make up 10 % of its total sales in 2014. The Europeans will not receive new models within the next few years, at least not until 2019. Officials expect medium-term sales percentage of 40 % in North America, 20 % in Europe and 40 % in Asia, which is quite an ideal situation.
