Renault will sell the Duster, Koleos and Megane RS in Indonasia

French carmaker Renault, as you already know formed an alliance with Japanese carmaker Nissan in order to launch the Datsun GO and GO + in Indonesia. Renault has now made an announcement according to which they plan to launch the namesake brand on the same market. The approval arrived very fast and it came from Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn and Jusak Kertowidjojo, President Director, PT Indomobil Sukses International, Tbk. First on the launch list is the Duster SUV which will also be assembled by Indomobil. The ones interested in it, should know that it will be available in Indonesia equipped with a 1.5-liter dCi diesel engine. This new unit comes in very handy in terms of fuel consumption and prices. Next on the list, we also have the Koleos SUV and the Megane RS hot-hatchback. These models will build the image of the brand in the country. Indomobil will build 45 Renault showrooms by 2016 in Indonesia which will be a great achievement. These new models on the new market are just a first step Renault has planned for Indonesia. The carmaker also plans to offer different products for the local assembly starting with 2015. We will have to wait and see how the public will react to this new development strategy. The Indonesian market managed to buy 1.100.000 new cars in 2012, which is a lot, but this might be thanks to the 250 million population of the country. Only 36 residents out of 1.000 own a car, but still, this is the largest market possible in the world. We are talking about South East Asia.
