Lexus CT200h planned as a 2016 MY

Lexus is already a name associated with quality, luxury and superior customer satisfaction. The brand reputation grew fast until Lexus became America's best-selling line of luxury motor vehicles. Lexus belongs to the global Toyota family, whose members together constitute the world's third-leading automaker and it is present on all continents, including Australia. Everything they do, they try to do perfect. The Lexus Australia officials have provided some information about the Lexus CT200h model.

The rumour according to which the new Lexus CT200h will be introduced next year, has just been confirmed. The hybrid hatchback comes to battle other new comers such as the Audi A3, BMW 1-Series and Mercedes A-Class. Not too many details have been offered, though. What is sure is the fact that the vehicle will feature updated styling and a spindle grille. The new generation of CT200h might be introduced as a 2016 year model and will most probably be offered as a sedan, too. The current generation is powered by a 98 hp (73 kW / 99 PS) 1.8-liter VVT-i petrol engine and an 80 hp (60 kW / 82 PS) electric motor. The combined output is 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS). This enables the hybrid to have an estimated EPA fuel economy rating of 42 mpg (combined). However, acceleration is not that good. The vehicle runs the 0-60 mph in 9.8 seconds and the maximum speed is 112 mph (180 km/h). The same configuration might be kept for the following model, but time will tell if that happens.
