McLaren confirms the specifications for the P1

British carmaker McLaren has decided to announce the performance specifications of the P1 hybrid supercar. Just for information, there are several improvements in comparison to the products the company has released so far. Now, we have to start by telling you that the car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in exactly 2.8 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds. These figures are really impressive, especially if we think about other hatchback models that are capable of reaching only half of this speed mentioned above. Moving on, we also have to say that the model is capable of going from 0 to 300 km/h in 16.5 seconds and this means it is 5.5 seconds quicker in comparison to the McLaren F1 supercar everyone knows. So that you know, the engineers have electronically limited the speed to 350 km/h. Because we heard about these performance figures, we imagine strange fuel consumption, but in reality, everything is being held under control. Under the hood we can find a 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 petrol unit that helps the electric motor offer great figures. The fuel consumption reaches around 8.3-liter per 100 km and the CO2 emission level reaches 194 g/km. In full electric mode, the electric engine has an 11 km range if we consider the NEDC cycle. The company has big plans for the future which include the development of the 375 P1 before the end of 2015. Workers need 17 days to build one car. The first P1 built has been taken out at the end of September and was taken to the McLaren Technology Center. Please check out the photo gallery we have prepared for you.
