Mitsubishi have officially announced their intentions to offer a limited Hello Kitty edition of the Mirage.
Why not, we would think, since there seems to be Hello Kitty edition for about everything these days. The Hello Kitty edition will be limited at 4oo units available for the Japanese market (although the manufacturer informed that they are considering selling the auto on other markets also). The special edition will be launched as a celebration for the 40th birthday of the character which was created by Sanrio.
Of course, the striking feature of the limited edition vehicle will be the bright pink paint job. Other modifications feature a Hello Kitty themed interior with Hello Kitty themed upholstery and the bespoke hub caps with a Hello Kitty themed ribbon and outer Hello Kitty adornments.
The Hello Kitty Mirage will have the same engine performances as the regular Mirage which made its word debut last year during the Tokyo Motor Show. The vehicle features a slender grill together with a roof mounted spoiler (which, in this case if of course bright pink).
The 2012 Mirage followed a less is more philosophy for the inside in order to offer a spacious airy cabin. The same was applied for the Hello Kitty edition which has a generous cabin for a comfortable drive for the person behind the steering wheel as well as for the passengers.
The vehicle is powered by a 1.0 liter three cylinder motor which comes with a number of technologies designed to enhance its performance like the Stop & Go system, a brake energy regeneration system and the MIVEC variable valve timing system. The engine is mated to a continuously variable gearbox and has a fuel consumption of 30.0 Km/liter (84.7 mpg UK).
The Hello Kitty Mirage will be available for purchase starting the 1st of November at a starting price of 1,116.570 yen (8.300 EUR / 11.500 USD).
