Daihatsu Kopen Concepts arrive in Tokyo Motor Show

Daihatsu, the Japanese company, is a modern firm with increased awareness of the cause-effect relationship between cars and the environment. This is exactly why their goal is to manufacture small vehicles with a high level of fuel efficiency and with an affordable price. Keeping the same spirit, the company will introduce two Daihatsu Kopen concepts at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.

Some time ago there was a rumour saying that Daihatsu is going to resurrect the Kopen model. Well, here we have the confirmation, except that we are now talking about two concepts that will battle to revive the Kopen name. The images that the Japanese manufacturer provided, illustrate a blue and an orange car. They correspond to the RMZ and XMZ versions of the small car, both coming in a more rugged approach.

Both of the Daihatsu Kopen models have the following features: 3395mm (133.6 inches) length, 1475mm (58 inches) width and 1275mm (51 inches) height. They are powered by a three-cylinder 660cc engine that works together with a CVT featuring steering-wheel mounted paddles. The 43rd Tokyo Motor Show will be held from 22nd November to 1st December and it could be the last train to catch this year for the car manufacturers who wish to show off their new ideas. We’ll find out more in a month’s time. Until then keep focused on the auto news.
